Choose Days at The Glebe

This long-awaited first Choose Days appearance brings The Blue Yellows to The Glebe: a Cheshire and Staffordshire based four-piece featuring Emma Alcock on keyboards and vocals, Dave Coomer on drums, percussion and vocals, Jonathan Tarplee on vocals and guitar, and Simon Taylor on bass guitar and vocals. Known essentially as a grunge-folk band, their EP “Scribble on a Cheat Sheet” also leans into folk-rock, funk and chilled jazz vibes, with meaningful lyrics and excellent musicianship.
A very welcome return for the Bifta boys. Anthony “Bones” Pascal on vocals and harmonicas, Steve “Roach” Eyre on guitars and slide, Andy “Bros” Broster on bass guitar, and Dominic “Dom” Cooper on drums and percussion bring a high-octane Leek-based blend of blues, blues-rock and R&B covers, with performances held in high regard across the local scene.
A welcome return for Sinpusher, a five-piece classic rock covers band featuring Chris Abbotts on vocals, Dave Teague on guitar and vocals, Tony Hall on drums and vocals, Alan Bruce on bass and vocals, and Tim Deakin on keyboards and vocals. Their extensive set lists include songs originally recorded by Toto, Whitesnake, Eric Clapton, Queen, The Cars, Van Halen, Journey, Boston, Free, Deep Purple and many more — and they always raise the roof at The Glebe.
A huge welcome back to the Bad Soul Buskers. This splendid Leek-based blues band go back to 2014 and are favourites across the Moorlands, the Delta and beyond. Fronted by vocalist Charlie Cope, they cover an impressive range of Chicago blues, rock, rock’n’roll, reggae and soul in a delightfully up-tempo style that gets people dancing and singing along.
Rescheduled from the new year, this will be a first visit to The Glebe for the immensely popular Disastrous Robots. Expect an evening of original music, electronic grooves, their very own Robo-pop sound, intriguing synths and influences from trip-hop, jazz and soulful psychedelia — dance tunes included, and hopefully no snow this time around.
A big welcome back to Vox Americana, fronted by Knoxville, Tennessee born and now Leek-based singer-songwriter, vocalist and guitarist Helen Walford. Expect a rich array of Americana, beautiful covers and truly inspirational original music too, making this a fantastic night for anyone who likes heartfelt songs and a warm rootsy sound.
Always a spectacular night of live jazz, blues, soul and funk whenever this inimitable veteran nine-piece powerhouse band comes to The Glebe. Scat-esque vocalist Eddy “Baron” Pollett fronts the tremendous Major Feelgood and The Soul Warriors combo, so expect a fabulous gig with plenty of horn and sax appeal.
It has been ages since Stingray were last here, so it is a huge welcome back to this fine collective of musicians. Fronted by Stoke-on-Trent born, now St Helens based Ash Wall, their mix of English and African-influenced songs blends rock and funk with reggae, Latin, Afro and more, creating positive and uplifting worldwide vibes.
As gigs go, this one is like hens’ teeth. After a cancelled 2020 appearance and rare Staffordshire dates in 2023 and 2025, Jim Gillespie and his legendary band return for another special night before Jim heads back to France. Expect a loose, improvised mix of blues and jazz through the 20th century from musicians with an extensive history stretching back to the White Lightning Blues Band days of the 1970s.
A return to The Glebe for this very busy Cheshire-based duo, made up of two extremely talented artists. Trish knows her guitar like the back of her hand after decades in bands and musical ensembles, while lead singer Krystal brings an astonishing vocal range that combines powerful runs, rocky huskiness and soft angelic vibrato. From Whitney Houston to the Foo Fighters, this dynamic duo can do the lot.
This Stone-based band features Neil on guitar and vocals, Collin on bass guitar and vocals, Craig on keyboards, and Mick on drums and percussion. Influenced by artists such as Joe Bonamassa, King King and Kenny Wayne Shepherd, they perform a rich array of soulful and dynamic contemporary power-blues covers. Every gig here has been jaw-droppingly powerful, so their return is eagerly awaited.
A big welcome back to this five-piece band, fronted by sassy vocalist Jane, with partner Dave Withington on sax, Lee Inglis on guitar, Pete Attwood on bass guitar and Julian Ogle on drums and percussion. Since forming this exceedingly strong line-up, their performances have moved to another level and led to gigs at several venues dedicated to quality blues music.
A welcome return to The Glebe for The John Street Revival, a mighty original music band described as “heartland rock, raw Americana, with infectious hooks and freewheeling melodies” — an alt-Americana road trip from the UK. Chris Insley on vocals and guitar, Luke Hodgkins on guitar and vocals, Andy Brown on bass guitar and Philip Styles on drums and percussion have been busy gigging further afield, so it will be lovely to have them back in Stoke.
